TCC Teleplex is one of the oldest and largest payphone service providers in New York City. The company celebrated its 15th Anniversary in 2001.

In October 1999 the company became one of the first to receive a franchise from the City of New York to operate public pay telephones on New York City Sidewalks.

Dennis Novick, the founder and President, started the company in 1985 and started with a mere 50 phones and by stressing service, reliability and convenience has grown to be one of the largest with over 1500 pay telephones.

TCC Teleplex performs its own maintenance, repair and services. It also offers these services to others through a related company, Public Communications Management (PCM).

TCC Teleplex is one of the key players in the Public Communications Industry and is ahead of the evolution by being the first to introduce and install an Outdoor Internet Web Pay Phone on February 10, 2002 in Midtown Manhattan. Every citizen and tourist can easily access the World Wide Web for a quarter per minute. From the Public Web Pay Phone people can shop, send an email with a photo, look up tourist information and sites of interest, access emergency services information, and even check their own business or home email POP account.

TCC Teleplex hopes to have 100 of these units installed over the next 12 months to provide the services above as well as access to Governmental services such as paying parking tickets, accessing important local governmental news, traffic and weather reports plus a whole host of services still being developed. Each Kiosk is reinforced to thwart vandalism and still provide vital access to emergency services through one touch dialing of "911." And with proprietary technology the emergency operator can see the address of the Web Phone on their screen, the same as from an ordinary pay telephone.
